SUMMIT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY

INTRODUCTION

Summit Construction Company came to me as a languishing brand in need of a serious identity revamp. Despite doing solid work in the field, their visual presence wasn't earning them the recognition, or the higher-paying bids, they deserved. The goal was clear: build a brand that was instantly recognizable, felt modern without losing its rugged, industrial roots, and could scale seamlessly across every platform, from job-site signage to print collateral.

Logo System

MY APPROACH

Rather than a single logo, I engineered a complete logo system: four distinct variations, each built with its own purpose and application logic, so the brand always shows up sharp, no matter the context:

  • Horizontal Lockup: the primary wordmark for maximum legibility on signage, letterhead, and web headers

  • Horizontal with Brand Mark: a combined lockup pairing the "SCC" mark with the full company name, ideal for formal and high-visibility placements

  • Brand Mark (Boxed & Unboxed): a standalone icon derived from the initials, built in both a contained and open format to flex across app icons, embossing, vehicle decals, and tight spaces

  • Stacked Lockup: a vertical arrangement for square formats like packaging, social profiles, and signage where horizontal space is limited

Every variation was designed to hold up at any scale, from a business card to the side of a service truck, without losing clarity or impact.

Color & Typography

I anchored the identity in a bold, high-visibility orange, a color choice that does double duty: it reads immediately as construction and industrial, while giving the brand the kind of sharp, confident presence that stands out against a sea of muted competitor logos. I paired it with a heavy, angular custom typeface treatment to reinforce strength and precision, a mark that feels engineered, not just designed.
